Grandmaster Sifu Bill Guinto began martial arts training as a teenager on Guam, his birthplace, in the arts of shotokan, aikido, kyo koshin kai, and taekwondo.

In 1976, after moving to San Diego, he discovered Kenpo and has practiced and evolved this Art into his own, Brown Dragon Kenpo Karate. Traditional Kenpo forms (kata) are taught to students.

Sifu Bill has also created his own forms (kata) for the katana (long samurai sword),
staff (5- to 6-foot long stick), and escrima (two short sticks).

Techniques taught to students are a combination of traditional Kenpo techniques as well as techniques developed or modified by Sifu Bill to enrich the student’s knowledge base and skill enabling them to protect themselves.

Sifu Bill teaches students willing to learn and experience the Art of Kenpo. He often states, “I teach from my heart, not my wallet.”

Sifu Cindy Guinto
3rd Degree Black Belt

SifuCindy@BrownDragonKenpo.com

Sifu Cindy Guinto earned her Black Belt with Brown Dragon Kenpo Karate,
instructor Grandmaster Sifu Bill Guinto.

She understands that each student learns in their own unique way, and taps into that student’s method of learning, enabling them to effectively practice the science and Art of Kenpo.

Most importantly, Sifu Cindy shows students, especially women and children, how to use leverage and technique in combination with their own strength, and to be fast and aggressive  in defending themselves from an attacker who is stronger than they are.

Sifu Cindy developed a self-protection and self-defense program called "Walk with Confidence" specifically for women and teenage girls.  This is a program aimed at how to avoid being targeted and attacked by predators, as well as teaching basic and extremely effective self-defense measures.
